James Garner as Detective Rockford
Storyline
Mark Hayes, a former probation officer, has gone freelance in the meantime and now manages a a detective agency where he also works as a private investigator. When he asks his former protege, Jim Rockford, to attach a GPS transmitter on the vehicle of two criminals, he does not tell him anything but the essential.
Rockford would gladly like to help his old friend, but is caught in the process and manages to escape thanks to only a healthy dose of luck.
Gradually, detective Rockford finds out that Hayes is now also working as a private investigator. Rockford is not at all pleased with the fact that Hayes Hayes has apparently abused his good will and used him as decoy.
