James Garner as Detective Rockford

Storyline

Private detective Rockford is commissioned to hand over an insurance check. Rockford sets out to Las Vegas to find Nancy, the singer to whom he must pass on the check.

When he meets the singer in a hotel in Las Vegas, she is standing at the mercy of gangsters and Rockford is knocked down. The check is gone and Rockford begins his investigation in order to retrieve it.
